Lovely-looking WS19 Mk III. This set is functional and has
worked New Zealand
on CW with the help of of a WS19 HP RF amp. Without the amp, it has worked all
around Europe including west Africa and the Azores
using a simple 100 foot wire aerial. It connects to the aerial through a
standard ATU, you don't need a variometer. Power output is about 20W on CW
using a mains psu with 600V HT. RT also works, but not as effectively as CW.
The intercom amp is present and works, though the B set has been removed. It
was officially rewired and the caps changed in 1958. All the valves are readily
available, but seem to go on forever. She covers the 80, 60 and 40m bands, and
can be modified to work top band. Reluctantly for sale because I must slim-down
my collection. One of the great British sets that helped win the War.Weight 35lb
